Kavulich Debate Dodge?

Two stories on 10/28 in the Scranton Times-Tribune:

The first, says Thursday's debate in Clarks Summit hosted by the League of Women Voters of Lackawanna County was postponed because Mr. Kavulich did not expect to make it back from Harrisburg in time because the House was in session, according to moderator Jean Harris, Ph.D.

The second, details Mr. Kavulich's full-throated support for Hillary Clinton at the Democratic Committee's dinner in Blakely...on Thursday night...the same night he was supposed to debate.

Looks like Sid's was able to make time for donors, just not debates.

Gary Johnson...smh

So, this guy wants to be President too...

Kevin Haggerty said he doesn't want to be a State Representative again!

Fast forward to the four minute mark where, in 2015, Kevin Haggerty said he doesn't want to run for State Representative again.  Yet, in 2016, he is running for State Representative again.

Is this really what the people of the 112th need right now in Harrisburg?

Another sign of a Trump victory in NEPA?

Lackawanna County Democrats landed Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota for their committee dinner.  Today, it is reported that only about 100 people attended the event.

Think about that for a second.  Democrats control almost every major office in Lackawanna County.  They probably have over 100 elected officials, but they only get 100 attendees?

Contrast that with the Republican dinner held on Monday, 10/24.  Eric Trump spoke and photos suggest they filled Saint Mary's Center in Scranton with at least 300 people.

Remember, Democrats outnumber Republicans in Lackawanna County by at least 2:1 yet Republicans show up 3:1 over the Democrats to support their candidate and Party?

Just another clear indication that there is simply no interest, no enthusiasm, and no energy for Hillary Clinton and the Democrats in Northeastern Pennsylvania in this election.

Need more proof? Look at the voter registration numbers.  Borys Krawczeniuk reported Lackawanna County Democrats grew by an anemic .15% this year.  Contrast that with the herculean growth of the Republicans at 15%.

If Hillary Clinton loses a 2:1 Democratic county like Lackawanna, it is hard to see how she can win Pennsylvania.

Local Democrats Support Sanctuary Cities, Illegal Immigration

On Monday, the House of Representatives voted on HB 1885.  The legislation had great bi-partisan support, passing 136-55 and was sent to the Senate.  The legislation penalized sanctuary cities in Pennsylvania for failing to enforce current law.

What is a sanctuary city?  A municipality that refuses to cooperate with the Federal Government when they apprehend an individual in the United States illegally.  This is a conscious decision made by each municipality's leaders as it is done through declaration of policy.  And, even though federal law requires cooperation, many municipalities refuse to do so.

This issue drew national attention recently when Kathryn Steinle was allegedly shot by an individual in the country illegally within the sanctuary city of San Francisco.  This individual had been previously deported five times. Steinle's family later filed a lawsuit against the city to force enforcement of current law.

Clearly, this tragic loss of life could have been prevented had current law been enforced.  Also clear, this is lost on many of our local legislators.

Here is the roll call on this measure, so voters can see who supports illegal immigration and who supports enforcement of our current laws.  The following Northeastern Pennsylvania representatives voted against the measure and instead, supported illegal immigration:
Rep. Frank Farina (D-112)
Rep. Marty Flynn (D-113)
Rep. Sid Michaels Kavulich (D-114)
Rep. Michael B. Carroll (D-118)
Rep. Eddie Day Pachinski (D-121)

Clinton and Alleged Sexual Assault

On her website, Hillary Clinton originally made the statement:

"I want to send a message to every survivor of sexual assault: Don't let anyone silence your voice.  You have the right to be heard.  You have the right to be believed, and we're with you."

After Juanita Broaddrick spoke up and Clinton was asked if her husband's accusers had a right to be believed, the line "You have the right to be believed" was scrubbed.

It is entirely possible that many first time voters in the 2016 election have no idea who Juanita Broaddrick is or anything about the other allegations made against President Bill Clinton, husband of Hillary Clinton.  There were many.

Before considering any of them, it is important to note that Hillary Clinton bears no responsibility for her husband's actions, alleged or otherwise.  What she should own and make right, is her response to women who came forward.

Juanita Broaddrick alleged that President Bill Clinton raped her.  Broaddrick has maintained that Hillary Clinton attempted to silence her including what she perceived as threats.

Hillary Clinton smeared Gennifer Flowers, one of President Bill Clinton's mistresses.  President Clinton admitted the affair after the attacks.

Hillary Clinton had a penchant for disparaging women as they came forward, dismissing their claims as bimbo eruptions.

Hillary Clinton attacked Monica Lewinsky, an intern who President Bill Clinton famously denied having a sexual relationship with, as a narcissistic loony toon.  Trouble is, Lewinsky did have an affair with Clinton.  The world learned of President Bill Clinton's sexual appetite in all its lewd details during his impeachment.  Many probably couldn't look at cigars the same way afterwards.

Paula Jones alleged that President Bill Clinton, then Governor of Arkansas, propositioned and exposed himself to her.  Jones was mercilessly attackedPresident Bill Clinton later reached an $850,000 out-of-court settlement with Jones for her sexual harassment lawsuit.

Kathleen Willey, a White House volunteer during President Bill Clinton's first term of office, alleged that President Clinton sexually assaulted her in the White House.

All this leaves the question, if true, should Hillary Clinton be blamed for her husband's actions?  While Clinton surrogates and the media, indistinguishable as they may be, often transition to that line of thought when these issued are raised, the answer is NO.

Most who raise these instances are not trying to tie anything President Bill Clinton did or was alleged to have done to Hillary Clinton.  The Clinton campaign and her allies know that.

What her allies do not want to address is exactly what Hillary Clinton does bear responsibility for.  It is the underlying issue to most who raise these past allegations.  Hillary Clinton and her allies persecuted anyone who accused her husband of impropriety and this demonstrates a profound lack of compassion for alleged victims of sexual assault.  It is for that hypocrisy, perhaps indirectly acknowledged by her website revision noted above, that she deserves criticism.

If Hillary Clinton has had a change of heart and now believes women who allege some form of sexual assault or harassment should be believed, she should demonstrate that by first apologizing to the women she sought to destroy for alleging exactly that against her husband.

John Rafferty for Attorney General up in NEPA media market.

John Rafferty is on the air in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

This ad, takes a shot at two recent scandalous democrats backed by his opponent.  One involving Democrat Kathleen Kane, former Attorney General of PA.  Kane has deep connection to the Clinton family.  They have such a good relationship, former President Bill Clinton endorsed Kane for Attorney General.  The second, Democrat Rob McCord, former Treasurer of PA.

Rafferty's second ad takes aim at the heroin epidemic in PA.

Clinton / McGinty Trample Steamtown Marathon

The Hillary Clinton for President and Katie McGinty for United States Senate campaigns were collaborating with the teacher's union to hold a rally with United States Senator Bernie Sanders in downtown Scranton.

Fearing rain, the event was moved into the Scranton High School.  The problem, the event was already booked for the Steamtown Marathon - an event that has raised and donated $1,450,000 to Saint Joseph's Center since 1996.

If you have never heard of Saint Joseph's Center, you should check them out.  The center is a helping hand to individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, developmental delay, pregnant women, young families, couples hoping to adopt, and people who require outpatient therapy.

Bill King, Director of the Steamtown Marathon, joined Sue Henry on WILK News Radio to explain how the Clinton/McGinty campaigns were hurting the event.  Apparently, the campaigns don't care.  The event is scheduled to go on anyway, squeezing out an event that benefits some of the most helpless among us.

Maybe Hillary Clinton should change her slogan from "I'm with her" to "It's all about her."
