Another Democrat Indicted in Luzerne County

The Times Leader reports that Democrat Gerald Bonner, former Democrat Committee member from 1986-1988, and a current Democratic Jury Commissioner, was indicted for bribery in Luzerne County.

Again, displaying their as-expected blackout on democratic identification, WBRE, the Scranton Times, and WNEP failed to disclose Bonner’s political affiliation.

Must read story on coverage and failure on the part of the media to accurately disclose Democratic Party ID on those involved in corruption here (hat tip to Newsbusters.org).

So I am not sure I get the point -- it sounds like you are saying that the indictments are politically motivated, else why would it matter?

The point is that when a Republican gets in trouble, the media make certain that you know the guy was a Republican. However, when a democrat gets in trouble, many media outlets will not mention the fact that the person was a democrat.

I see. And do you have links to WBRE, Scranton Times, and WNEP stories about republicans that demonstrate that?

A friend of mine brought this point up to me a while ago. Since then, I make it a point to see if it's true while reading or watching stories about politicians. I don't document this stuff so I can't give you links. But, from now on, take a little extra time to go through the article and make the observations yourself. I think you'll find it interesting. I've been making these observations for a while now, and that's the over trend I see.
